What is Split Testing?
Split testing is a method where multiple versions of a webpage are shown to visitors randomly to see which one performs the best. By comparing how users interact with each version, you can find out which design, layout, or content drives more actions, like sign-ups or purchases.
This feature helps boost conversions by identifying the version that resonates most with your audience, so you can focus on what works best to achieve your goals.
Case Study of Upgrow:
Split testing can be a game-changer for improving conversions. Here's an example from an article published on Upgrow: Split Software used this method and achieved a 775% increase in leads while reducing their spending by 18%. This means their cost per lead dropped by 91%, and they got nearly 8 times more leads without spending more money.
This shows why split testing is so important—it helps you find what works best for your audience, improve results, and save money at the same time.

Adjust the traffic percentages as desired to control how much traffic each variation receives.
5. Configure Winning Parameters Manually
Manual: You decide when to declare a winner based on the performance data. It will also assign a high-performance tag to whichever performs well.
Important Notes:
1. When the winner page is selected manually, the winner page URL will be changed to the control page URL.
2. To view the other pages, save the campaign first. Then, you'll be able to see all the pages in the winner selection area.
6. Launch the Split Test:
Review the split test setup to ensure everything is correct.
Click "Start Split Test" to launch the campaign.
7. Monitor and Analyze Results:
Once the split test is running, monitor the performance of each variation in real time.
FlexiFunnels will show the results based on the chosen performance metrics (e.g., conversion rates, leads, or sales).
When the test reaches a significant result you can manually declare a winner.
8. Implement the Winning Variation:
Once a winner is declared, traffic will automatically be directed to the winning variation.
You can then use the insights gained from this split test to further optimize your funnel.
Use Cases of Split Testing with FlexiFunnels' Feature Steps:
Optimizing Landing Pages:
- Scenario: A business wants to find out which landing page design resonates better with its target audience.
- Action: Using FlexiFunnels' Split Test feature, they create a split test campaign and add two variations of their landing page. Variation 1 has a minimalist design with a single call-to-action (CTA), while Variation 2 has a more detailed design with multiple CTAs.
- Steps: They set up the campaign, equally distribute traffic between the variations, and monitor the performance metrics like leads and conversions.
- Outcome: After running the split test, they declare a winner by using the "Winner Selection" feature. If Variation 1 drives higher conversions, it is declared the winner, and all future traffic is directed to this page for optimal results.
Testing Call-to-Action (CTA) Effectiveness:
- Scenario: A marketer wants to identify which CTA wording drives more conversions.
- Action: In the split test campaign, they create two variations: one with the CTA "Get Started Now" and another with "Join the Community."
- Steps: They create a split test campaign in FlexiFunnels, add the CTA variations to their funnel, and split the traffic equally. They use the "Winner Selection" feature to analyze which CTA results in higher click-through rates and conversions.
- Outcome: After reviewing the performance metrics, the marketer declares the CTA with the highest conversion rate as the winner, ensuring future visitors see the most effective call-to-action.
- Optimizing Lead Magnets:
- Scenario: A digital marketing coach wants to identify which lead magnet (e.g., eBook or webinar) attracts more subscribers.
- Action: They create two variations of a landing page, one offering an eBook and the other offering a webinar.
- Steps: Using FlexiFunnels, they create a split test campaign, add both variations and split the traffic equally. They set winner selection parameters based on the number of leads generated by each lead magnet.
- Outcome: They monitor the lead generation metrics and declare the variation with the most sign-ups as the winner. The winning lead magnet is then automatically prioritized to attract more subscribers.
Important points that you have to keep in mind while making any changes to your project:
Changing the domain or slug of a running split campaign will disrupt tracking, links, and analytics. Proceed only if necessary.
Solution - Configure the split campaign again and set up proper redirects to avoid data and traffic loss.
That's it! You’ve successfully set up the Split Testing Campaign. Happy Split Testing :)
