How to use Tab Messaging Feature inside the FlexiFunnels ?

Modified on Sat, 24 Feb at 5:45 PM

Tab messaging is a feature that facilitates dynamic, real-time communication with users through a website's browser tab. It involves altering the tab's title and/or icon to convey information, notifications, or updates seamlessly, allowing users to stay informed without actively interacting with the webpage.

Mind-Boggling Numbers Unveiled: Tab Engage, a renowned software, has published a case study demonstrating the recovery of 50-86% of lost traffic through the implementation of Tab Messaging.

For example, consider a checkout page of FlexiFunnels where you've added your details but haven't completed the purchase. With tab messaging, the browser tab dynamically changes to display a notification like "Don't Miss Out! Your Cart Has Items" or even the specific number of items in your cart.

This prompts you to return to the site, reminding you of your selections and potentially encouraging you to finalize your purchase.

Let's take an one more example:

If you will notice, Facebook & other social media sites do it all the time. When you switch the tab from Facebook, they will show you tab messages like:

"1 New Message"

"1 New Notification"

or anything to pull your attention back.

Now you can do the same on your pages.

Steps to add the Tab Messaging.

1. Open your editor and locate the gear settings icon in the bottom left corner. Click on the gear icon, and a menu will appear. Select the "Tab Messaging" option.

2. Upon selecting the "Tab Messaging" option, a pop-up window will appear, providing various settings for tab messaging.

3. Customize the tab messaging settings:

 a. Notification Sound: Choose a notification sound of your choice to accompany tab messages.

b. Notify for Every Option: Set the time interval for the notification sound (options include 5s, 10s, 25s, 30s, and 60s).

c. Notification Icon: Add an icon to represent tab messages.

d. Add Message Option: Populate the tab with messages by utilizing this option. Multiple messages can be added to the tab.

Note  Maximum of 5 messages only allowed

Don't forget to toggle the switch to enable tab messaging.

4. After customizing all the settings, save your changes.

5. Once saved, publish the page to implement the configured tab messaging.

6. Experience the dynamic tab messaging on your page. The title/message in the tab will automatically change at specified intervals, creating an engaging and interactive user experience.

Critical Pointers of Tab Messaging:

  • You can add up to 5 tab messages.

  • Notifications will sound a maximum of 2 times.

  • The notification sound will play only after you click on the published URL of this page. After that, if you switch to a different tab, then it will give a notification sound.

  • If you change the domain or slug of this page, please publish the page again.

  • It is available exclusively for desktops, offering dynamic communication features within desktop browser environments.

Use cases:

1. Notifications: Websites can utilize tab messaging to notify users of new messages, new offers, or important alerts, enhancing the overall user experience.

2. Exclusive Discounts: Tab messaging enables website platforms/stores to highlight exclusive discounts or time-sensitive offers, grabbing the user's attention even when the website isn't open.

3. Appointment Reminders: Service-oriented websites can employ tab messaging to remind users of upcoming appointments, reservations, or deadlines.

4. Virtual Event Reminders: Websites hosting virtual events/challenges can utilize tab messaging to remind registered users about upcoming webinars, conferences, or live streams, enhancing attendance rates.
