How to Create a Live Mock Test in Flexi Membership

Modified on Mon, 21 Sep at 10:35 PM

Live Mock Test lets you build timed exams for your members, pulled from a shared question bank inside your course. Members get a clock-ticking test experience — with instructions, a pass mark, and optional score review — all without leaving your membership site.

This guide walks you through the complete process: opening the Live Mock Test settings, creating a new test, configuring how it behaves, adding questions, and where member results will show up once people start taking it.

1. Opening Live Mock Test Settings

From your FlexiMembership dashboard, click My Membership in the top navigation bar.
Open the membership you want to work with, then click the Settings button in the top-right corner of the membership overview.

Go to My Membership, then click Settings on your membership

In the Settings menu, click Engagement (described as "Certificates, points & quizzes"), then click Live Mock Test from the submenu that appears.

Settings → Engagement → Live Mock Test

? Where this sits Live Mock Test is grouped under Engagement alongside Certificate, Gamification, Quiz / Test, and Instructor. The other Settings categories are General (Identity, links & layout), Marketing (Banners & popups), and Access & Advanced (Security, menus, features & scripts).

2. The Live Mock Test Panel

Clicking Live Mock Test opens a panel with two tabs: Tests and Question Bank. On the Tests tab, you'll see a "Your mock tests" list — empty at first, since no test has been created yet — and a + New Mock Test button in the top-right corner.

The Live Mock Test panel — click + New Mock Test to create your first test

Click + New Mock Test to start building your test.

3. Filling in the Test Details

Clicking + New Mock Test opens the New Mock Test window with three tabs: Details, Questions, and Attempts. You'll land on the Details tab first.

EndsEmptyWhen the test closes. Left empty, it never closes. Members must start the test before the Ends time — but a test already in progress keeps running for its full duration even if Ends passes.
Show onNone selectedChip selector for which pages show the test banner: Courses, Community, Members, Map, Leaderboard, Rewards. If none are selected, the banner defaults to the Courses page.
? Note on time zone The Starts and Ends fields use Asia/Kolkata (IST) time.
Once you've filled in the details you want, click the green Create test button in the bottom-right corner.

⚠️ Save first, then pick questions Before Create test is clicked, the panel shows the note "Save first, then pick questions." — you cannot add questions until the test has been created. Click Create test first; you'll then be able to switch to the Questions tab.

4. Adding Questions to Your Test

After you click Create test, the window updates to Edit Mock Test. Click the Questions tab, then click + Add new.

Once the test is created, switch to the Questions tab and click + Add new

? Two ways to add questions The empty state message says: "Click Add new to create one, or add questions in the Question Bank tab." This means you can either create a question directly here, or build up a shared library of questions under the Question Bank tab (back on the main Live Mock Test panel) and pick from there.

The Question Builder

Clicking + Add new opens an inline question form. First, choose the question type from the chips at the top: Single choice, Multiple select, True / False, or Numerical.

Pick a question type, then fill in the question text and category/topic

Select a question type chip. Single choice is selected by default in this example.
Type your question into the Question * field.
Enter a Category / topic * (e.g. "Biology"). This groups the question in the question bank so you can filter and pick it for other tests later.

Answer choices — tap the letter circle to mark the correct answer, then click Add question

Fill in your answer choices. Each choice has a letter badge (A, B, and so on).
Tap the letter on the choice that's correct — it turns into a green circle with a checkmark. In the screenshot, Choice A is marked correct.
Click + Add choice if you need more than two answer options.
Click Add question to save it, or Cancel to discard it.
? Tip After adding your questions, don't forget to click Save questions (visible on the Questions tab) to attach them to this test.

5. Viewing Member Attempts

The third tab in the Edit Mock Test window is Attempts. Before anyone takes the test, this tab shows an empty state.

The Attempts tab — member results will appear here once people start taking the test

✅ What happens once members start taking the test Once your test is Published and members begin attempting it, their results — scores, pass/fail status, and attempt history — will populate automatically in this Attempts tab.

Quick Summary

  1. Go to My Membership and open your membership.
  2. Click Settings → Engagement → Live Mock Test.
  3. Click + New Mock Test.
  4. Fill in the Test name, description, instructions, duration, pass %, and other settings on the Details tab.
  5. Click Create test to save it.
  6. Switch to the Questions tab and click + Add new to build questions (or pull from the Question Bank).
  7. Mark the correct answer for each question, then click Add question and Save questions.
  8. Turn on Published (Details tab) when you're ready for members to see the test.
  9. Check the Attempts tab later to see member results.

Common Questions

❓ I created a test but members can't see it — why? Check the Published toggle on the Details tab. It's off by default, so the test stays hidden from members until you switch it on.
❓ I can't click on the Questions tab when creating a new test. You need to click Create test first. The panel note "Save first, then pick questions" means the Questions tab only becomes available after the test itself has been saved.
❓ What happens if I leave Max attempts at 0? A value of 0 means unlimited attempts — members can retake the test as many times as they like.
❓ What happens if I leave Questions to serve at 0? A value of 0 means all selected questions are served in every attempt. Set a specific number if you want each attempt to randomly pull a smaller subset.
❓ I set an Ends date, but a member's test kept running past it — is that a bug? No — this is expected. Members must start the test before the Ends time. If they've already started, the test keeps its full timer running even if Ends has since passed.
❓ Where will my test banner show up if I don't pick anything under "Show on"? If no pages are selected, the test banner defaults to the Courses page.
