When a customer buys your product, you want them to instantly receive what they paid for — an ebook, checklist, video access link, software file, etc. Connecting a Digital Asset automates that delivery.
This quick guide shows you how to wire a digital asset to a product so it's automatically emailed to customers after purchase.
Before you start
You need to have created a digital asset first. A digital asset is a file (or a link to content) that FlexiFunnels stores and emails to customers on your behalf.
? Don't have a digital asset yet? See Digital Assets Settings - Creation and Delivery to create one first. Once created, come back here and connect it to your product.
Step-by-Step: Connect a Digital Asset to Your Product
Step 1 — Go to the Products Tab
From your FlexiFunnels dashboard, click the Products tab.

Step 2 — Select Your Product
Click on the product you want to connect the asset to.

Step 3 — Open After Purchase Settings and Select the Asset
- In the product settings, click the "After Purchase" tab.
- Find the "Select a Digital Asset" dropdown.
- Click the dropdown and choose the asset you want to send.
- Click "Save" to apply the change.

Done — The Asset Will Auto-Deliver
From now on, whenever a customer purchases this product, the digital asset is automatically emailed to them according to the delivery settings you configured in that asset. No manual work.
Verify It's Working
Test it yourself before relying on it for real customers:
- Re-publish your sales/checkout page (if you haven't already).
- Make a test purchase using your own email address.
- Check your inbox (and spam folder) for the asset email.
- Confirm the file or link is there and works.
⚠️ Important: test on the live page, not in the editor preview. The full purchase flow only works on the published site.
Common Situations & Quick Fixes
"The asset dropdown is empty — there's nothing to select."
You haven't created a digital asset yet, or you deleted it. Go to Digital Assets Settings - Creation and Delivery, create an asset, then come back here to connect it.
"I connected the asset but customers didn't receive the email."
- Did you re-publish the sales/checkout page after connecting? Changes don't go live until you publish.
- Is the digital asset's email configured? Open the asset settings and verify the email subject and content are filled in (not blank).
- Check the customer's spam folder — delivery emails sometimes get flagged.
- Did you test it with a test purchase on the live page? (Not the editor preview.)
"I want to send different assets to different customers."
One product, one asset. If you need to send different files based on what they buy (e.g., "Beginner Bundle gets file A, Pro Bundle gets file B"), create separate products for each tier with different assets connected.
"The customer received the email but the file/link is broken."
The issue is in the digital asset's configuration, not the connection. Go to Digital Assets Settings and verify:
- The file is properly uploaded or the link is correct.
- The email body includes a working download link or access link.
"I want to send an asset AND add them to a membership."
You can combine options in After Purchase Settings. Select the asset and also set the membership they should be added to. Both happen automatically after purchase.
